Andy&Nicky were married on Brighton Bandstand- well, under it for the most part because the British weather threw all it could at us that day! We postponed their ‘couple shots’ until one sunny day after their honeymoon so that we could rock Brighton seafront!
A Treasure the Dress shoot is a great way to ‘rock that frock’ and get some killer shots, maybe in a location you couldn’t get to on your wedding day. Or perhaps you’ve always loved the idea of a ‘trash the dress’ shoot?! Who says you only get to wear your wedding dress once?!
Top Bananas! …a band on stilts! Far more entertaining than a string quartet don’t you think?! There are plenty of alternative wedding entertainment ideas out there- give your guests something to talk about!
This is one of our favourite alternative wedding albums! The cover design was lifted from their wedding invitations, designed by Andy himself, & the spreads were created by Lucy Ledger, using scans of buttons & polka dot ribbon, just like those featured in the wedding itself!

Nicky’s maid of honour wore an AMAZING polka dot, cherry, heart, skull love fest Hell Bunny dress from Geenwich Village in Brighton.

In a desperate search to find flowers and buttonholes to fit their black & white polka dot theme, Andy&Nicky fell in love with the concept of button bouquets, & found Tanya at Blue Button Bride to make a set of bouquets, buttonholes, and headpieces. The best thing about alternatives to fresh flowers is that they have the potential to become a family heirloom! Mine is sat on top of our [purple] piano as we speak!
Geek chic shoes! Nuff said… except that they’re from Irregular Choice in Brighton… & they have polka dots on the top, of course! Oh & btw, their website is TO DIE FOR!

Super fun mismatched ‘tat’ centrepieces. It would be so much fun collecting these piece by piece over the course of your wedding planning, from charity shops, boot fairs, ebay, friends, family… in fact you could ask your guests to donate them as fun, token wedding presents!
