The Anti-Bride Takes an Axe to a Choccywoccydoodah Masterpiece | Alternative Commercial Photography in Sussex

We went to a friend’s birthday party the other night, and he rather unexpectedly cut his cake with a  karate chop – utterly brilliant! Let’s face it though, who hasn’t wanted to demolish a cake at some point in their life?! Well a few months back we were contacted by Joyce of Brides and Beauty and Georgina of Ruby Weddings about an incredibly exotic shoot they were planning together with Paula of Paula Rooney Weddings and Events, dubbed ‘The Anti-Bride’. You might already have seen it featured on Boho Weddings and on Ruby Weddings, but we thought we’d show some of our favourite shots here too.

Heavily influenced by Hammer House of Horror films, the styling was dark and moody, with blood red gothicness everywhere, and a storyline involving multiple infidelities and their repercussions! One of these was the outpouring of the Anti-bride’s rage on the wedding cake, stunningly sculpted by the team at Choccywoccydoodah cake shop, and filled with a blood-red raspberry coolie, ready to burst out when demolished with her axe. We can’t really think of a better way to cut the cake to be honest! Oh, and if you’re ever think of hiring some Butlers in the Buff, be prepared – Martin wasn’t, and received a rather cheeky surprise when he looked through the viewfinder for a test shot!
