Jennie&James loved the idea of a big garden party wedding with a fun and relaxed vibe, and wanted to do as much themselves as they could. Having a country garden venue inspired them to use an array of wild flowers and make their own pretty bunting… and loads of it! The highlight for us was the miniature railway which ran around the grounds of the house. Their wedding guests were able to ride around the beautiful gardens in the sunshine… and rain, on an adorable little steam train, ducking through a long dark tunnel en route. Jennie even drove the guests of honour around the track herself later on!

Jennie&James met at uni. One was studying Business IT and History, and the other Dance- match made in heaven right?! Actually they really are! They are the cutest couple that fell in love over a romantic picnic in Hyde Park followed by a sunset trip on the London Eye! James is a true romantic- just listen to their proposal story…

“James surprised me with a weekend in Paris (which is one of my favourite cities in the world) –after an amazing day sightseeing, James had arranged a dinner cruise on the rive Seine, where he proposed to me on deck of the boat as we passed by the Eiffel Tower, and just as I said yes the lights of the Eiffel Tower started to sparkle! It was like a fairy tale that neither of us will ever forget.”

We asked Jennie&James to describe each other in three words;

Jennie said: loving, generous, geeky

James said: gorgeous, adorable, cheeky

James: “The moment I saw Jennie walking up the aisle, I knew then I was marrying the love of my life.”

Jennie: “I loved every moment of the day, but seeing James at the altar with the biggest smile made my heart crumble.”

Wedding dress: Perfection, Maidstone. “I fell in love with my wedding dress the moment I put it on – it was pure satin and had a stunning simple hand sewn decoration on the front- it was simple but elegant.” Wedding shoes: Next

Their first dance was accompanied by Jamie Cullum’s What a Difference a Day Makes. ”It actually turned out to be even more fitting for the day as one of the lines is ‘what a difference a day makes, there’s a rainbow  before me’…

…and we were lucky enough to have rainbows on our wedding day!”

♥ Its like looking at a storyboard… “Just wanted to say thank you so much for our photos – we love them. You have managed to capture every moment of our day so well, we can’t stop looking at them!  We are so pleased with them… couldn’t have asked for more with regards to having our wedding captured in photos- its like looking at a storyboard!”

“We fell in love with your work the moment we found your website, James is a huge photography amateur and we both loved your style. Its unique and seemed in your photos to capture all emotions. When we meet you both we felt really relaxed and it  was as if we had known you for ages, once we started talking about what we were looking at doing you were able to understand straight away and you seemed as excited about capturing our day as we were having our special day.

On the day you both brilliant, you were our photographers, and guests! We both felt so relaxed in front of you, and in seeing our photos we honestly couldn’t be happier.”

Additional mentions:

Wedding venues: Ceremony: St George’s Church, Benenden, Kent. Reception Venue: A family friend’s beautiful garden and house.

Wedding décor: For their table decorations, Jennie&James went for country shabby chic metal water jugs with a lavender design, filled with wild flowers, whites and greens and purples. The table names were {the cutest} pictures of themselves when they were little!

Bridal accessories: Jennie’s matching  Swarovski necklace and earrings were a wedding gift from James. Bespoke, handmade tiara by Georgina’s Tiaras.

Bridal hair & make-up: Jennie did her own make-up on the day after a lesson at Mac (and a little help from her sister in law!), and her sister is a hairdresser so she designed her hair for the day (lucky Jennie)!

Groom’s suit: Moss Bross, provided all the groomsmen outfits, apart from the mini ushers whose outfits were from BHS wedding department.

Bridesmaid’s accessories: Bridesmaid jewellery was from Accessorize. Bespoke, handmade tiaras and hair clips by Georgina’s Tiaras.

Wedding flowers: The Style Workshop, Tunbridge Wells. “James has spoilt me in the past with gorgeous bouquets from them so we just had to have them for our wedding flowers.”

Wedding caterers: Jennie&James went in search of a local caterer, who had a homemade feel to their food, and found Sandra Field, based in Staplehurst. “Sandra and her team provided a fantastic service, and created everything we wanted, and even helped the day run smoothly! We choose to have a large buffet with a selection of all sorts of cold meats and salads – keeping in theme with our garden party, a little like a picnic. Followed in the evening by a Hog Roast and a Chocolate Fountain which nobody could resist!” (Even us… the chocolate fountain that is- Penny can’t even look at a hog roast)!

Wedding cake: James’ mum is an incredible baker, and designed and made their wedding cake.

Wedding entertainment: A Jazz band on arrival at reception, and a DJ in the evening who they knew through friends. The main entertainment though was a miniature railway!

Wedding car/transport: An old Rolls Royce
