Tino&Pip Photography's Favourite Wedding & Commercial Photos of 2012 Part 2-001

We fell for these guys as soon as we met them in their favourite kooky little Hampton Hill pub for their engagement shoot. As we chatted, giggled and took a few pics here and there, Holly&Tom told us all about their wedding plans, and we were so super-excited- it would be fun, relaxed, quirky and full of love and laughter- just our kind of wedding!

They used some of our photos from their engagement shoot to illustrate the table names- we were ever so proud! There were also lots more dotted around in pretty mis-matched frames- a little extra something to keep their guests amused!

Holly&Tom visited Charlie at The Real Cut Flower Garden whilst they were in Herefordshire making their wedding rings. They loved that they got to see exactly where their flowers would be grown! The bouquets were just stunning and everyone commented on how ‘just picked’ all the flowers looked. As the flowers are seasonal they didn’t know what they were going to get until about a week before the wedding! How exciting!

Wedding dress: Rosa by Louise O’Mahoney of Oh My Honey. We were so excited to learn that our super-talented friend Louise was making Holly’s dress- we just love her alternative wedding dress style! Holly found Oh My Honey on the internet when searching for 50s style wedding dresses. She asked Louise to make the dress a bit longer, as that length would suit her better- the benefit of having a wedding dress handmade to order! “I just absolutely fell in love with this dress!… It’s such an amazing dress I was so excited to wear it.”

Bridal hair & make up: Make up by Dani Richardson. Dani was fantastic and super cool (great for getting ready photos)! “I was blown away by my make up, it was just perfect and I felt a million dollars all day.”

Hair by Hayley Salter. Holly changed her mind about what she wanted the day before the wedding (eek)! She told us that she had originally wanted a messy side bun but decided that it wasn’t really her. It’s so important to pick a style that’s really ‘you’ otherwise you’ll be aware of it all day- believe me! As Holly wears her hair down most of time, she felt she’s be more comfortable doing so on the day. It was just perfect for her- she looked so glamorous with it swept to the side!

Wedding rings: We were so impressed to hear that Holly&Tom had made their own wedding rings! During his speech Tom mentioned how much he was going to enjoy wearing a ring that Holly had made for him and what an amazing experience it was. It was all so romantic- what a beautiful idea! Of course they had a little help from Sue Lane in Herefordshire.

We asked Holly&Tom to describe each other in three words.

Holly said; (super!) intelligent, kind-hearted, creative

Tom said; happy, fun, adventurous

We asked them which were their most memorable moments (we’re suckers for the romance!)…

Holly: “Hearing the trumpet start up as I walked up the aisle and apologising to Tom when I got to the front, for being late! The speeches were brilliant, a mix of emotion, humour and embarrassing childhood tales! It was also lovely to look around during the meal and the dancing in the evening and seeing everyone enjoying themselves.”

Tom: “Walking down the aisle as a married couple. To be doing something so amazing surrounded by all the people we care about was an unforgettable experience. No matter where I looked as we headed down the aisle, all I could see was the people we loved smiling and clapping. I’ll never forget that.”

The soundtrack… Tom’s oldest friend Steve, accompanied the organist on the trumpet as Holly made her entrance and during the signing of the register- such a wonderfully personal touch that their guests loved! Steve seemed to be enjoying himself too! In fact he picked up his trumpet again and jumped in with the band later on (after a tipple or two)! For their first dance they chose  ‘Wonderful World’ by Sam Cooke. They told us that they were initially going to have Noah and the Whale ‘ Five Years Time’ but as it’s really upbeat and neither of them are confident dancers, they had an about turn a couple of days before the wedding!

♥ It is so worth investing in talented photographers who really get what a wedding is all about. Fun, laughter and love… “We’d seen some of Tino&Pip’s work on a wedding blog and they happened to be at The Red Barn’s wedding fayre on the day we confirmed our wedding date! They were both really friendly and we were blown away by seeing their photos in print.

We loved our engagement shoot, despite feeling rather nervous about being in front of the camera. They were both really down to earth and quickly put us at ease. When we got the photos back from the shoot we just couldn’t wait for the wedding day! We really would recommend them to anyone. There hasn’t been a day since we got the wedding photos back that we haven’t looked at them! It is so worth investing in talented photographers who really get what a wedding is all about. Fun, laughter and love. Thanks so much guys x”

Additional Mentions:

Wedding venues: Church of St Peter & St Paul, Lingfield. The Red Barn, Blindley Heath.

Wedding décor: Holly&Tom got their table name stands, flower jugs and candle holders from Lavenders of London.

Wedding shoes: Petra by Rachel Simpson from Luella’s Boudoir. Holly found her shoes 3 days before the wedding after a disastrous attempt to dye a pair of cheap satin shoes navy blue! She told us that Luella’s Boudoir were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help!

Bridal accessories: Hairclip and veil by Lily Bella. Holly&Tom’s friend Annemarie of Accinto made the earrings for Holly and her bridesmaids and were a complete surprise on the day!

Groom’s suit: Next. “He looked so handsome I cried in the changing rooms!”

Bridesmaid’s dresses & shoes: Phase Eight. We loved that they had lace sleeves to match Holly’s! The bridesmaids wore their own shoes.

Wedding cake: Cheese wheel cake by Teddington Cheese. ”If you love cheese more than you love cake just go for it!” Said Holly. So as not to deprive those with a sweet tooth (like Penny), they asked family and friends to make cakes- fantastic way to involve them in the wedding and of course save a little money!

Wedding entertainment: The Fabulous Feedback Band. Everyone loved the band! Apparently the dance floor was packed pretty much all night! We couldn’t leave without grabbing a few picks of their friend Steve joining in on the trumpet!

Wedding car/transport: Sovereign Cars. Holly&Tom went for one of only two navy blue 1934 Woleseleys in the country and it looked fabulous on the day! They told us that they had initially decided to save money on the transport by asking Holly’s Dad and the best man to drive them in their VW Corrados, but in the end they were pleased they went with the Woleseley!

Kath and Luke’s reception at The Red Barn was one of the most inviting we’ve ever photographed – candlelit, with an amazing central fire and an entire wall of books at one end, we had loads of fun, as did their guests! The couple had an old suitcase for guests’ cards, but the travel thread didn’t stop there – an amazing world map table plan covered with various stamps from around the world, guided guests to their tables, where they found photo cards of places the couple had visited, with a few quirky facts about the place on the back! Thanks so much to Kath and Luke for having us on such an amazing day!

Online sweethearts… “We met through an internet site, and we’ve been together nearly five years. Luke proposed in a beautiful park in Marrakech.”

Everything was wonderful… ”We had an informal wedding in a countryside venue that we love.  Everything was wonderful – from the church ceremony, to the local choir that sung in aid of our favourite charity, to the perfect wedding cake, and the band that got everyone up dancing… My highlight of the day was the church ceremony, particularly reading our vows and hearing the choir.”

♥ Creative, distinctive and so friendly… ”We chose Tino&Pip after leafing through a few photographers’ talented but pretty generic photo albums, and scouting about for something a little more personal and distinctive. As soon as we saw Tino&Pip’s amazing website, we knew they had a special creative touch, and from looking through their gallery, we were completely sold. We knew we didn’t want the typical black wedding album in a box, and when we met up with Penny and Martin and saw the beautiful albums they display their photographs in, we couldn’t wait to pick one of our own. I think what makes Tino&Pip so special is the incredible attention to detail they show throughout the entire process, from planning where to take photos to selecting the colours and background for your album. They’re also incredibly lovely people, and you’re about to spend one of the greatest days of your life with them, so it does matter! :) Creative, distinctive and so friendly – I couldn’t recommend them more!”

Venue: St Swithun’s Church, East Grinstead. “Kath went to school in East Grinstead and was christened and confirmed at St. Swithun’s.” The reception was held at The Red Barn, Blindley Heath, Surrey. “Sacha and Nicola at The Red Barn were absolutely fantastic – I can’t recommend the venue highly enough!”

Dress: “My dress was by Confetti and Lace

Shoes & accessories: “My shoes were Diana Hassell and my jewellery was from Dower & Hall

Groom’s outfit: “The suits were hired from Hugh Harris in Woking”

Bridesmaid’s dresses: “The adult bridesmaid dresses were from Phase Eight, and the young bridesmaids dresses were from Monsoon

Flowers: “Hand-tied bouquets of freesias, tulips, anemones, roses and lisianthus by Daisy Chain Florists in East Grinstead”

Venue Décor: ”Windlights and hurricane lamps were placed around the hall, with candelabras near the top table.  The barn is already beautifully decorated, and has an enormous fire in the centre, so it didn’t need much additional decoration.”

Personal touches: ”We made a sweetie table with lots of different shapes and sizes of vases.  The name holders were votive wraps made by a lady from California, and bought via Etsy.”

Cake: “My wedding cake was made by Jane Mason at Cakeability by Jane, based in Forest Row, Sussex.  We had layers of chocolate cake, carrot cake and fruit cake, and it was amazing!”

Entertainment: “We hired a band called Funk City Party Band that we had first seen at a friend’s wedding.”
