How gorgeous is this little man?! Eriko and James contacted us to see if we could pop over during a visit to East Sussex from Japan, and get some photographs of the family. We just couldn’t help but get some great shots as these proud parents were doting over baby Eamon and his cute expressions. There were plenty of giggles and cheeky smiles to go around, and the whole family were lovely and so fun and easy to work with – thanks so much to you all!

As we ease gently into the English summer, it’s hard not to cast envious glances at the Southern California photographers who enjoy year round warmth and sunshine (compared to Blighty anyway)! Well fear not; as this gorgeous maternity shoot with Emma and Anthony shows, England can compete with the best of them! Emma got in touch after seeing the Count the Kicks bump calendar promotion, which aims to provide knowledge and support in later stages of pregnancy. As we chatted about ideas for the shoot, Emma said that they lived in Camber, a uniquely sandy beach along the East Sussex coast, and completely perfect for a location portrait! A rather blustery day meant that the beach would have been too cold, so we found shelter amongst the sand dunes, and made the most of the sun to capture these beautiful summery images.
We’re writing this on a grey chilly day after a few days of sunshine, so it’s nice to have such warming images to look at! Thank you so much Emma and Anthony, not only for helping out this wonderful charity, but for being so much fun on the day!

We’ve been wanting to share this rather lovely family shoot for some time, but circumstances have meant that we’ve had to wait until now! Anyway, what can we say, other than that this multi-generational family were so much fun that we struggled to pick just a few favourites! We were generously afforded the run of the Library at The Cavendish Hotel in Eastbourne, which although rather unassuming on the outside, is utterly spectacular on the inside. With our portable studio lighting in place, the initially camera-shy girls warmed up, and soon the whole family were joining in, leading to one of our favourite multi-generational family photoshoots.
Thank you all so much for being so lovely and so much fun – a family enjoying life to the full and inspiring us to do the same!

* We are overwhelmed by the amount of supporters for this fabulous cause. We now have ample shoots booked to produce some great shots for the Count The Kicks Bump Calendar and hopefully raise lots of money, so we are no longer taking bookings.*

We are asking for your help in raising awareness for the charity Count the Kicks- working to reduce Stillbirth & Neonatal deaths. They have had the fabulous idea to put together a 2012 calendar to raise funds for their cause and are looking for mummies-to-be to model their beautiful bumps.
In return we are offering a FREE 1 hour maternity shoot at a location of your choice and an online, password protected gallery of up to 20 images, with every image lovingly retouched… Further more, 50% of any subsequent purchases will be donated to Count the Kicks!
“We are looking for Anne Geddes style fun, immaginitive shots that represent each month of the year, ideas we’ve had so far are using body paiters and painting a Pumpkin design on a Bump for Halloween in October, or a Christmas pudding in November, perhaps a big Sunflower for April or May and maybe a model in an “Incey Wincey – teeney Weeny – Yellow Polka dot Bikini” holding a beach ball for July??! The more imaginitive the idea the more we will love it!” Sophia Mason, Count the Kicks.

We’d love to hear your ideas for the calendar shots, as we would still like them to reflect your style and personality. We may even let you pick your favourite month! ; ) Of course, not the entire shoot needs to adhere to this theme. We can also explore any other ideas you have and work to achieve as much variety as possible for you to choose from.

We must submit our photos for the calender by September. Bumps around 35 weeks are the best for size and shape. If you are based within 25 miles of Eastbourne, East Sussex, please get in touch- we could have so much fun!
Please share this post via Facebook, Twitter etc to help spread the word and join Count the Kicks’ Facebook Group to get updates and show your support. Thanks so much! xXx
